Hikone | Japan Location Photo

Hikone city locates in the east of Biwako Lake in Shiga Prefecture. You can come to Hikone city by a bullet train (Shinkansen) and get off at JR Maibara Station, then take a car or taxi about 15 mins.
The famous sightseeing spots in Hikone city are “Hikone Castle and Genkyuen Garden”. Hikone Castle was built in Edo era and completed in 1622. This castle is the one of only five castles listed as a national treasure. Genkyuen Garden is a Japanese garden in Hikone Castle area. This garden is always used for drama or movie shooting location. Normally, Nobody was allowed to shoot a pre-wedding photo around castle area but we have got a special permission to shoot. Furthermore, you also can shoot a pre-wedding photo near Biwako Lake or Kojinyama Park which has a beautiful scenery that differs in each season.
